MCU Timeline Update: Several titles revealed with release dates

For just an hour ago, Marvel dropped a movie celebration! This video reveals both some release dates and some upcoming titles. They are listed below!

First out, is still Black Widow at July 9 2021, followed by Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings at September 3. Eternals goes at November 5, and for the first time we had some (very) quick images from the movie too. By the end of the year – December 17 comes Spider-Man: No Way Home followed quite short after into next year by Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness at 25 March 2022.

Thor: Love and Thunder comes next year at May 6 followed by Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at July 8 – where we now also has got a title for Black Panther 2.

In our MCU Timeline, we had Captain Marvel 2 flagged at November 11 2022, which also means that we now have a title for the upcoming Captain Marvel-movie: The Marvels.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania premieres February 17 2023, the year after followed by Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 3 at May 5, 2023. They also glimpsed The Fantastic Four, but without any date revealed yet.

That said, we are aware that there are more upcoming titles underway, so this is probably just the beginning!

See you at the movies!

Black Widow timeline and F&WS removed plot update

During the today’s interesting watch of internet breakdowns which confirms Falcon and Winter Soldier removed plot, we’ve also found material to fill up our occurance list with. The first part is present around 3:40 in a Black Widow trailer breakdown by Emergency Awesome that keeps track of our prior updates of when the movie takes place. Below’s a short cut from this video, showing some details for the Black Widow occurance.

As we’ve mentioned before, at least through our timeline tracker, Black Widow takes placce (occurs) short after Captain America: Civil War, but before Avengers Infinity War. However, as Charlie Schneider mentions, in the above video, it also “sounds like some of the movie will take place in actual present day after Endgame“.

As you also can see, from a part of the Black Widow prelude, which always is comics based on the movies – there are scenes present shortly after Civil War. We just don’t have any official dates yet.

There has also been a rumour floating around that Robert Downey Jr is present in the movie, which feels logical since Iron Man did not die until after Endgame. However, we recommend you to not believe in everything you see on the internet, until stuff will be offcially confirmed. A Google screen dump is not an official confirmation whatsoever. As the events in Black Widow happens after Civial War, it won’t be suprising with either cameos or flackbacks from other events.

Black Widow confirmed to go DisneyPlus premier – Pushing Shang-Chi forward in time

This morning we woke up to a Black Widow premiere update. It has been pushed forward, again, to July 9 but will also be available for premier access at DisneyPlus, with additional fees. This actually also means that Black Widow has taken the place of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings which now has been delayed three months. As it seems, Shang-Chi will instead have its premiere September 3. The timeline has therefore also been updated with proper information.

Black Widow is now a “Last minute descision”

Marvels Black Widow have recently being “promised” to be a theatrical release. With the recent shareholders meeting, this was also a promise. As cinemas starts to open in different areas in USA it seems there is no doubts of this either. However, repots have started to pop up in our monitors that Black Widow theater release will be a “last minute decision”. Disney CEO Bob Chapek confirms this in an interview with Bloomberg Markets and Finance and says they will remain flexible and see what’s coming over a couple of months.

Black Widow remains a theatrical release according to the shareholders meeting

With a quick check in our feeds, Black Widow seem to be remain a theatrical release. According to shortlist, Bob Chapek has confirmed that May 7 is still the release date and only for the big screen. They also say that cinemas in UK will open 17 May and therefore the film have to be delayed to get a UK release.

The release schedule was also confirmed by The Walt Disney Annual Meeting of Shareholders yesterday, which also will be the last meeting for Bob Iger – executive chairman and former CEO (2005-2020) of The Walt Disney Company as he leaves in the end of december.

They also mentioned being able to reopening theme parks (with limited capacity and strict health and safety protocols in place) and consumer product businesses, by making significant changes in how they manage and operate those parts in the company. This makes us believe that the date could remain unchanged, as long as everything goes as planned – both with reopening cinemas again, and the COVID vaccination speed.

What about premier access?

According to a rumour, not releasing Black Widow on premier access, is because of specific clauses in Scarlett Johanssons contract that prevents Disney and Marvel releasing it on Disney+. Scarlett Johanssons contract for the Black Widow movie has some special terms in it about how they are allowed to release it. Charlie “Emergency Awesome” Schneider talks about this in the below video, in the fifth minute of the video.

We do not have any more source about this (yet) than the video below.

What the future after WandaVision may give us

We’ve been a bit busy the last days back, so we’re a bit behind schedule. If you have any tips or information beside the tracks we usually follow, you may want to contact us – or become a writer yourself here.

This week, we actually wait for the next tv series to start – and while waiting we try to monitor if there is news about the release of Black Widow. Meanwhile, we do have a collection of videos from our two favorite Youtubers, below.

Color scheme update at the timeline page – and breakdowns for episode 9 is already out

Some says (The WandaVision director actually) that theory-hungry fans will be disappointed by the shows finale. I don’t think there will be very much disappointments here. Even if Doctor Strange should’ve made a cameo. So, what happens now? We will wait for Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and last but not least – Black Widow!

And there are upcoming breakdowns; this time, New Rockstars, was really fast out with the first one, that explains the post credits. Erik Voss (who probably broke some kind of record this week) also still speaks about Mephisto, so let’s not drop that one just yet.

Since Phase 4 is now ongoing, we’ve updated the color scheme for the old phases so that the current movies and series are reflected better to the “truth”. Also, two episodes of Marvel Studios: Legends was released this weekend that changed positions back one week.

There’s also a slight change in the scheduling that we wasn’t prepared for, regarding Marvel Studios: Legends. Apparently, the episodes may be split up and shared over two weeks.

Since the episodes of Zemo and Sharon Carter wasn’t included in this weeks schedule, they will probably streaming as planned next week (since they have been included in other websites forecasts).

Will Black Widow be pushed out of schedule again?

‘Black Widow’ is currently scheduled to kick off summer movies on May 7. The highly-anticipated movie was initially set to kick-off the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4, but has seen multiple delays over the last year due to Covid-19. Several medias now reports that there’s a risk that the movie could be delayed again. Industry experts and insiders have been speculating that Hollywood’s next round of release date delays will begin to impact the middle of 2021.

It is quite surprising though, that Disney and Marvel seem to not do the same as HBO are doing with their entire movie set for 2021, since this is only makes fans angrier. We’ve however seen weird twists before and the prior Disney+ trailer leak – if it was even legit (which we still don’t know) – said it could also be put on premier access. Disney reportedly has four weeks before they have to make a decision on the release date.

We still hope that our questions will be answered around 23rd february.

WandaVision finally introducing S.W.O.R.D. properly with a skrull easter egg

Did hell break loose this time? Well, as mentioned before, we’ve spoken about when things may beaks loose for real. In episode 4, S.W.O.R.D is finally introduced – wishes that many viewers have spoken about have come true. At the MCU page, some gaps are now filled in.

What we first believed would be some kind of 1980’s episode, turned out to be a tinly jump between the spaces of the sitcom reality and the real reality, giving a quite exciting recap from the former episodes. Monica “Photon” Rambeau is also introduced, by being the first S.W.O.R.D agent getting sucked into Westview – who became Geraldine for a short period. The episode ends with what then happened to Rambeau – which has been shown in some of the official trailers.

In this episode we will finally meet Randall Park (Jimmy Woo in Ant Man) and Kat Dennings (Darcy Lewis in the Thor movies) that are leading the outside operation. The promises for an accelerating action style series are now in progress. The hexagonal shape and the “Mephisto theory” that has been mentioned a while by both Emergency Awesome and New Rockstars shows up on Woo’s border. At the same screen capture at this page, Skrulls are also being brought up as a slight note in the left corner.

From Episode 4 we will also get introduced to the WandaVision’s sitcom cast, identified as…

  • Mr & Mrs Hart: Todd and Sharon Davis.
  • Norm: Abilash Tandon.
  • Jones: Harold Copter.
  • Beverly: Isabel Matsueida.
  • Herb: John Collins.

As it also seems Ag(atha Hark)ness, don’t show up in the cast just yet.
The names in the cast is also real names from the WandaVision production, mentioned in this video.

There are also new breakdowns for this one (currently most of them from Emergency Awesome). The most recent are presented below. Some fans that – this far – seems to be quite newborn to Marvel and the MCU, that asked why the hell WandaVision was a sitcom, also finally got their stupidity confirmed.
